My Prison in the Mirror
The Ripples in the mirror extend I throw in another rock Something else to disturb the waters Another problem, another rock
It began as sand so miniscule insignificant And swift in the wind Taken by the desire to be free
I am my own prison The waters of this mirror Are my freedom But it shatters when I touch it
The rocks create no trouble However my touch destroys How is it so? How can it be?
The sand became pebbles The pebbles, stones and eventually They will destroy even me Why am I so weak?
No I am not weak This mirror gives me reason It gives me the answer To a question I never heard
If it shatters maybe If I try hard enough I can still find my reflection Within it
Or maybe my reflection Maybe it will disappear Or perhaps I am frozen By self-created paranoia
I am my own prison Though my own key I will release myself And cease to wallow In pain long since disappeared ~*~*~*~*~*~*~ This is the very first poem I've ever written, so please tell me what you think! and thank you for reading, even if you didn't like it...
